For Immediate Release – Following a series of major opera house debuts last year, mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack is embarking on a 2017/18 season packed with lead roles across the top U.S. opera houses.

Daniela kicks off 2017/18 with the titular role in the world premiere of Elizabeth Cree at Opera Philadelphia (September 14 - 23) – an opera filled with “dreamy, seductive arias about butchery and woe,” New York magazine’s Justin Davidson wrote following a New York preview with the Crypt Sessions concert series. She then pivots from the modern to the Baroque, singing Bradamante in Alcina at Washington National Opera (November 4-19).

In the new year, the American mezzo-soprano will be reprising her role as Jacqueline Kennedy in JFK, a role she created, at Opéra de Montréal (January 27-30, February 1-3). She’ll then be making her Seattle Opera debut as Beatrice opposite her real-life husband Alek Shrader’s Benedict in Beatrice and Benedict (February 24-28, March 3-10).

Continuing her tour of powerful roles, Mack returns to Opera Philadelphia for Carmen in the spring (April 27-29, May 2-6), before heading to Santa Fe Opera in the summer to sing the lead role in The Italian Girl in Algiers (July 21-25, August 3-17).
